Fr. Thomas Sherman, SJ (1856-1933), son of Union general William Tecumseh Sherman, and Fr. John Salter, SJ (1877-1933), grand-nephew of Alexander Stephens, vice president of the Confederacy have gravestones which tell a story with its roots in the Civil War.
